Teachers in today's classrooms are bombarded with so many "other duties as assigned" that I am fearful that vast amounts of technolgy opportunites are being lost. I think that developing a PLN can help alleviate some of the stress associated with researching and "trying out" new things. As we expnad our networks we can be exposed to some tried and true jewels that are researched based and ready to implement.
On our campus we have utilized Edomdo in faculity meetings and many teachers are using the program in class. The one program that seems to have gotten the attention of our staff is Odyssey. I have fielded numberous questions about creating and assigning lessons and logging in. Some of our upper grade levels are also using Glogster.
Personally, I am using the Odyssey program as a workstation in my classroom. The students have enjoyed working through module and are very excited to take and pass the end of course quizzes. Animoto and Accelerated Reader are class favorites. I am now in the process of working with my kids to create glogs on Glogster. I want to get that up and running and then venture out to Extranormal. I work in the afterschool program and use Learning.com as the foundation for my computer bascis class.
